:a weekend away:

On Friday morning, we decided that we would go away for the weekend.
We decided to go to Cape Paterson as I haven't been there for many many years and Ewan and the girls have never been there.  There is a beautiful rock pool to swim in that we thought the girls would love..

It is only about an hour and a bit drive, so after picking the girls up from school at 3.15pm, we were on the road by 4.15pm.
Once there it was a pretty quick set up with much assistance from the girls.  They are getting very good at knowing what to do and jumping right in and doing it..

After we set up it was off to Inverloch to get some fish and chips for dinner.. It had been a long time since I had been to Inverloch too.  It was the closest beach from where I grew up so it brought back lots of great memories..

The next morning it was breakfast and straight to the beach.

As you can tell by the look on Kelsi's face the water was VERY VERY cold

It didn't bother the fish species commonly known as Eryn though.

The girls loved walking around the rock pool exploring and chatting

and having just told Ewan how great it would be to bring the snorkles and flippers down to explore around the rocks in the little bay bit and that it looked really safe, this is what the girls came across

A shark, dead, but still a shark..
Anyone who knows me knows that I have a huge fear of sharks so I guess I wont be snorkelling after all..

It was a fantastic few days, beautiful weather, very well behaved girls, very relaxing and we can not wait to do it again soon.
