:my creative space:
My first one back and there really hasn't been much sewing going on here at TEEK over the holidays.
I have however managed to sew a little vinyl zipper pouch.
I highly recommend using a Teflon Foot for your sewing machine it makes your life a lot easier believe me!!!!
Head over to the ever talented kootoyoo for a peak at what others are up to.
NB: This is actually printed cotton and thin clear tablecloth from spotlight(not sure of the exact name for it)

You're braver than me, I'll don't think I'll even attempt to sew vinyl - my sewing machine & I don't get along as it is!
ReplyDeleteStitching vinyl is super tricky......something I try and avoid because it doesn't agree with me!
ReplyDeleteI've never worked with vinyl ... I think it's scary too. I love your vinyl print.
ReplyDeleteooohhhh this is a fab tip!! I once fixed a friends rain coat and it was a nightmare!!! loving the pattern on the vinyl!!
ReplyDeleteSigh wish i could sew that neat. Look lovely :-)
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know there was a special vinyl foot. This is lovely. I know what you mean about trying to sew over the holidays.

Great Tip.
ReplyDeleteoh it looks really nice. i never attempted to stich vinyl... thanks for the tip
ReplyDeleteI've always used tissue or a walking foot because I don't have a teflon one. I'll have to see if I can get one for my machine. Your bag is darling-it would be so perfect for a make-up bag!!
ReplyDeletei love the pouch. i have worked with vinyl and paper sewing little purses out of vintage books and i think a teflon foot would be a worthwhile investment. I used silicone spray and a leather stitching needle and it is tough work. yours looks so neat and well finished
ReplyDeleteThis looks great. My big girl would love it!
ReplyDeleteLove working with this sort of fabric. Just to let you know I get my lamps and shades from a Brisbane Wholesaler who sells to business only. You can send me a private email if you want the details. Cheers. Simone
